Unlocking value

Long-time ViTrax user, Marlenique Packhouse in Simondium, has released significantly more value from the system during the past two seasons. Said FarSoft director Gerhard Nel, “It’s been good to see Marlenique’s system expansion and the resultant benefits during 2020.
“This month, ViTrax QC, integrated with the ViTrax Mobile app on Android, is being rolled out – one of our first clients who have integrated the quality control module with the mobile app.”
Earlier this year during the stone fruit and citrus season, FarSoft implemented a carton management system (CMS) for Marlenique. Ans Bougaardt, ViTrax administrator at the packhouse, was particularly pleased about the CMS. “Integrated with the Appsource solution, it not only simplifies production information acquisition, but also generates error-free box end-labels. It’s truly streamlined our processes.”
Marlenique’s Juanet du Toit was rubbing her hands in anticipation of using the QC system for the packhouse’s forthcoming stone fruit season. “So far so good, but we’re eagerly awaiting full use.”
Owned by the famed Van der Merwe family of Boplaas (the oldest family business in South Africa), Marlenique Packhouse receives stone fruit and citrus in bulk bins and then manages the process of cooling, sorting, packing and shipping. Driven by the latest technology and 90% renewable solar energy, the latest addition to the packhouse last year was a four-lane MAF RODA G7 camera defect sorting pack line.
