Daniël expands his skillset
Having always believed that its developers should broaden their horizons and skillset, FarSoft regularly presents them with opportunities at multi-track conferences to grow their knowledge and dive into new technologies, tools, frameworks and languages.
In line with this ethos, FarSoft developer Daniël Roux was one of more than 170 attendees at Aberystwyth University’s iOS app development conference in September. Here in Wales, he soaked up invaluable debating and knowledge at how-to workshops on the latest app developments for iPhone and iPad.
“There were talks on design for developers, how to make user-friendly apps and better ways of using the phone’s technology. By far the best lesson learnt was that of ‘unintended consequences’. That means to be mindful that what a developer might consider a minor or rare problem, could be perceived as a significant problem from the end user’s perspective,” he explained.
With his career at FarSoft spanning three years already, Daniël loves programming challenges and has a soft spot for the food industry, which he calls “very dynamic”. Apart from walking and socials with friends, his time after hours is pretty much taken up with all things tech: tinkering with programming and playing video games.
