A five-star system
Having worked with ViTrax both on the production and finance side at De Keur Estate, system coordinator Niki Strydom knows what she’s talking about when she gives the system a five-star rating.
“We implemented the system way back in 2006 and I’ve been actively involved since 2012, first on the financial side and then production. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with the FarSoft team and particularly Mariska Cubitt,” she said. “The support is simply without comparison.”
Since 1934 the De Keur Group has created a legacy in the fruit industry. Today the group is managed by the third-generation Du Toits who have expanded the Koue Bokkeveld and Wolseley production areas considerably. They’ve also developed the product lines to include a variety of apples, pears, nectarines, peaches, blueberries and onions.
The Ceres fruit packing facility handles all De Keur’s fruit, as well as contract packing options for other producers. At Rocklands, the vegetable packhouse packs and processes De Keur’s onions for the various markets. ViTrax has been implemented at both facilities.
Niki concluded that in her role of problem-solving, setting up the system and supervising, she had found ViTrax to be not only practical, but user-friendly to the nth degree.
During a recent visit, FarSoft made a donation to De Keur’s award-winning Klippieland Créche and Aftercare Centres where 31 small children and 42 scholars receive daily care.
